The monster attacks, violently choking Max on the bedroom floor. Desperate, Max grabs his heavy metal tripod and tripod light, brutally smacking the creature until a spray of blood outlines its horrifying shape. Escaping through the front door, Max collapses onto his actual kitchen floor and is reunited with Max’s Mom. As she hugs him, Max looks over her shoulder. The green light is still burning under the fridge. He didn't escape; the woman he is holding is just a duplicate of the shape-shifting entity.
